Event Details

We are thrilled to be rolling forward with the 2010 Sonoma Springs Bike Festival and ‘Miles For Mentoring’ Bike Ride, and we hope you will join us.  This year’s event will be held on September 18, 2010 and will feature a gourmet lunch and beer garden at the end of the ride!  Your registration include a lunch ticket. Once again, there will be plenty of activities for riders and non-riders at the Depot Park location.

The Sonoma Valley Mentoring Alliance, the Sonoma County Bicycle Coalition and Sonoma Valley Cyclists, are teaming up once again to organize the third annual Sonoma Springs Bicycle Festival, and the Miles for Mentoring Bike Ride. Together we hope to encourage more people to choose biking riding in Sonoma, and celebrate the wonderful biking opportunities in our valley. We will also be providing retrofitted bikes to the youngsters in our mentoring program who have never had their own bicycle before.

The wine country is beautiful from any perspective, but especially on a bike! Join us this year and support a great cause at the same time. The 25-mile ride will take you across the east side of downtown Sonoma, and out through miles of vineyard land that is rarely seen by tourists. The turn around location is the beautiful Boucaine Winery. The 7 miles Family Fun Ride will follow the same route until the Gundlach Bundschu Winery, where there will be a turn around rest stop in the picnic area.

We will have plenty of support along the way. Fall is an ideal time to bike in Sonoma. See you there!

  • The Mission of the Sonoma Valley Mentoring Alliance, which was incorporated in 1999, is to provide academic and social support to help youth reach their highest potential by matching them one-on-one with caring adult role models from the local community.  Together they build a trusting, caring relationship in a safe, supportive environment.
  • The Sonoma County Bicycle Coalition promotes bicycling for transportation and recreation and works to educate the community about bicycle safety and the benefits of cycling, including good health and protecting the environment.
  • Sonoma Valley Cylists (SVC) is a group of bicycling enthusiasts based in Sonoma, CA.  We enjoy and promote cycling in and around the Sonoma Valley.  The group is open to people of all ages, interests and skill levels.  Whether you are a casual rider, a commuter, a sport road rider, a mountain biker, a BMX-er or an avid racer, you are welcome here.
